Well… I can start writing this essay in many different ways…

Photography for me is a passion. I can’t live without it. Sometimes I feel that I must take my camera and go and take pictures. It’s difficult for me to live without my camera.

Photography for me is an art form. It is the Beauty itself. It is something that is beyond a banal outlook on life.

Photography for me is a record of a specific moment in time. I like to look at the snapshots that reflect my inner state at this or that period of time. They remind me of very many things, cause a variety of emotions.

Photography for me is a form of mass communication. Frankly speaking, I find the news programme boring. But when I choose the "Vesti” channel and there are photos and short descriptions to them it seems quite attractive.

Not only can a photograph convey factual events but also evoke emotions, unify and bond people.

I can start my essay in different ways. But I’ll choose none of them. I won’t start it. Now YOU start…

What is it actually for YOU?!

While reading my "unstarted” essay you’ve come across different points of view. And I’m sure you agreed with some of the ideas and disagreed with other ones. And it’s good. I think that the aim of every essay is to make a person think, to evoke his emotions.

I wanted you to smile. Did I manage to do that?

Now it’s time I finished my essay. I can also do it in different ways. But I won’t.

Photography is something that helpes one express himself. It can also help one get to know some other outlooks on life. But there is one thing that, to my mind, makes photography a very specific genre.

Not everybody can draw well. And those who are not talented usually don’t paint at all. Not everybody can write novels and poems. And those who can’t usually don’t even try to. Not everybody can play a musical instrument. And those who can’t just listen and enjoy it. But everybody can take a camera and make a shot. Even a small child. This makes photography somewhat closer to us and somewhat unachievable, too. Our shots aren’t Photography. And we shouldn’t mix it up. If we didn’t, there would be no question whether photography is a form of art. Do you agree with me?
